MV Somboon 3

Thailand Liveaboards

MV Somboon 3 Similans Liveaboard

Somboon 3 is a very large and spacious liveaboard built specifically for Similan liveaboard diving. At 30 metres in length and 6.5 metres in beam she carries up to a maximum of 28 sleeping guests.

From mid-October until mid-May Somboon 3 is generally stationed around the Similan islands except Wednesdays/Sundays when she visits the island of Koh Bon (famous for manta ray sightings) and Mondays/Thursdays when she visits the world famous dive site of Richelieu Rock. Her flexible schedule means that you can join any day and leave almost any day of the week. In other words, you can have as short (day trip) or as long a stay as you wish.

The Cabins

Somboon 3 has twelve twin cabins and two double cabins. There are six twin cabins on the lower deck with the remainder on the main deck. Each cabin has its own individually controlled air conditioning plus storage space under the beds. Cabins are modestly decorated but still clean and comfortable. Bathrooms/toilets are shared with 6 bathrooms in total spread around the liveaboard each with soap and shampoo dispensers. Note that towels are not provided on board so please bring your own.

This is a very spacious area with plenty of room for everyone to sit and relax either during meal times or in between dives. Snacks and soft drinks (free of charge) as well as tea, coffee and water are available throughout the day. Just help yourself.

MV Somboon 3 - lounge area

There is also an air-conditioned lounge area on the upper deck with TV and DVD player. In here you can not only find a large DVD collection but also a number of reef guides to help you identify those wonderful fishes seen on the dives.

MV Somboon 3 - sun deck

On the top deck is a very large sun deck with a number of sun beds and mattresses. This is a great place for the sun worshippers or to gaze at the stars at night time.

MV Somboon 3 - dive deck
